Abstract

The text addresses the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on work life and productivity. The importance of AI development in "traditional" sectors is emphasized and focuses on Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution, which faces technologies such as autonomous robots, the Internet of Things, Big Data processing and augmented reality. The implementation of this Industry 4.0 affects the entire production system, from the design to the good or services offered. The technological transformations underway and projected for the future affect a wide range of productive activities and generate opportunities for development and well-being, but they also pose threats and challenges in labor markets. Teleworking, remote work, refers to physical interaction in the employment relationship, and focuses on digital advancement at work. The text also analyzes a new way of working in working life, teleworking, which will make its way in recent years, using computer media and telecommunications. A comparison of this type of work in Spain is collected, focusing on the metropolitan provinces of Madrid, especially in the Madrid region, using microdata from the Survey on Equipment and Uses of Information and Communication Technologies in Homes. Technology has helped economic growth, improving living conditions and opening up new and better types of work. Advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning, such as Watson and self-driving cars, mark a radical change in the world. However, there is a need to understand how technology impacts people in the labor market and what economic opportunities. Digitalization and artificial intelligence are creating jobs in emerging sectors, driving demand for digital skills and promoting the emergence of new business models. At this point, Machine Learning comes into play, allowing for faster and more accurate data analysis and identification of patterns or anomalies in operation. The objective of this article is to evaluate the economic opportunities generated by technological transformation, examine the challenges and risks associated with technological transformation in employment, and analyze the skills and competencies necessary to succeed in the digitalized labor market.
