FOUNDATIONS OF ANDRAGOGY IN MULTIMODAL EDUCATION: A LEARNING MODEL FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

The study aims to elucidate the foundations of andragogy in multimodal education as a learning model for university students. Andragogy is an educational praxiology that serves to train adults. Among its main characteristics, andragogy differs from pedagogy, since it focuses on a learning-oriented process while pedagogy refers to the education of children by focusing on in conducting a teaching-learning process. The principles of andragogy are based on horizontality, participation and flexibility, resinifying new axioms based on the characteristics of multimodal education that seeks the application of multimodal strategies in accordance with the learner's sensory receptors proposed in the VARK model, which includes the visual, auditory, textual and kinesthetic. Methodologically, the research was developed from a qualitative approach applying a systematic review technique considering various research published by journals indexed on platforms such as Scopus, Scielo, Latindex, Redalyc, Dialnet, among others. The findings of the research highlighted that the purpose of multimodal education allows incorporating the fundamentals of andragogy in a face-to-face, blended or distance multimodality. In conclusion, the importance of working on multimodality in the classroom from the foundations of andragogy allows developing the skills of adult learners under an innovative, flexible, creative, technological and autonomous scheme with the capacity to adapt to the dizzying changes that are taking place. occur in the social and work environment.
