The journal Ciencia y Cultura presents issue 55, the second volume of Views and Reflections: Bolivia at its Bicentennial, as a critical contribution to the historical, political, social, and cultural analysis of the country. The issue opens with the Inaugural Lecture on Humanism by Juan Carlos Salazar, focused on the challenges facing Bolivian democracy. It includes articles on nineteenth-century scientific explorations, Chiquitano biodiversity, architecture, Chaco War literature, urban memory, constitutional biocentrism, and environmental governance. The volume also features historical, cultural, and scientific studies, a visual essay on Walter Solón Romero, historical chronicles, academic reviews, and a photographic selection by Julia Vargas-Weise. Overall, it reaffirms the academic and cultural commitment of the Universidad Católica Boliviana.
